The Boy in the Striped Pajamas Ch. 5-8

In chapter 5 it starts off with Bruno listening to his father talking to some of his men about discipline and other things to do with the camp "Out-With". After the men leave Bruno goes down to his dads office to talk to him. When he get down there he starts talking to his dad about the move to the new house. Saying that it was a bad choice an they should move back. But his father disagrees with him. So the argue for a while going back and forth. Once the argument ends Bruno storms out of the office angry.

In chapter 6 Bruno talks to the maid about his father saying he is dumb. Right after he says that the maid yells at him saying that his father is very kind and to never say that. So Bruno says that he doesn't get how she can say that. So the maid tells him about what his father did for her when she was young and didn't have a job. Once she explained it to Bruno he said that he never knew that and was sorry for saying that.

Chapter 7 Bruno makes a swing to pass the time. After making it he starts to push him self off the tree but he was going too high. So he fell off the swing. His leg got caught on the swing though so Bruno was dragged across the ground scratching up his arm and knee. The butler ran over and helps him into the house where he cleaned and patched up his cuts. Right then his mother got home. So she sent Bruno upstairs to tell the butler that if anyone asks she cleaned him up.

Finally chapter 8 says why Bruno's grandmother is angry at his father. There really isn't much to this but it says that she feels it is her fault that Bruno's father is a nazi because she dressed him up like oone when he was young. And now that he is a real nazi she hates him for doing all of the things he does to the jews.

These chapters defiantly get better. Building the tyre swing was a creative idea. I would have been so grateful to any person that came and helped me when I fell off of my swing. I love what Bruno's grandmother stands for. She even left the house because of what he was doing to the Jews. I don't mean to edit your blog but Jews should be capitalized.

I'm not a huge fan of this book, but we have to read it for class. Your summaries really help me understand the book better. So thanks
