Some of the female virtues that Okonkwo refuses to acknowledge is the compassion for his daughters and sons, the fact that his wives live him, and that he care about what happens to the to people. This affects his life because he does not care about others so he gets in trouble for being heartless. Even though his wives love him he beats them, so when he beat his second wife during the week of peace he is cursed then since he does not care about the other people he is not liked by the god so he is cursed even more. So all of this leads to the downfall of his farm and house. Since all of this happens he denies that he has female virtues. This is really one vicious circle.
